Benny Caiola, passed away peacefully after a sudden cancer diagnosis on Thursday, April 22nd 2010 in New York, NY.   He is survived by his wife Bettina, and his children Benny 3rd, Luigi Caiola, Alfred and Rose. He was the beloved brother to Alfred, Louis, Bettina and the late Salvatore, cherished grandfather of eight, and so much to so many.

Mr. Caiola was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him. His charismatic and gracious personality made him a giant among men. He leaves behind a legacy which will keep his spirit alive for generations to come.

He immigrated from the small village of San Fratello, Italy at the age of 17. Through non-stop work, Mr. Caiola soon founded B & L Management, LLC, which he ultimately grew into a real estate empire that owns and manages thousands of apartments all over Manhattan.  He worked his way up from plasterer to general contractor while making canny property investments along the way.

The joy of providing for his family was what drove him.   In addition to being well known as a real estate developer and owner, Mr. Caiola was known for his wit and his generous and caring ways. His passion included owning the largest and most extensive private Ferrari collection in the world. Still he never forgot his humble origins and maintained a sincerity and common touch that endeared him to CEO and laborer alike. His generous spirit was also well-known, always available to offer advice and assistance in any way possible. On a personal note, Benny Caiola was a dear friend to my father, the late Charles F. Follini , whom I will always remember admiring Benny Caiola greatly and with friendship.
