Balfour Beatty PLC snagged a $47.5 million contract with George Mason University to design and build a 609-bed student housing complex on its Fairfax campus, the company announced Monday.
The 216,700-square-foot project, known as Northwest Housing VIIIA, will include mostly four-bedroom units in buildings that rise to seven stories.
The two-building complex, at the corner of Ox Road and Unversity Drive, will also include a quad area.
Gensler is designing the project with Balfour Beatty.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this month, with delivery slated for June 2012.
The team is also working on another project on the GMU campus, the 170,800-square-foot Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel. That development is expected to deliver in July 2010.
