Dallas-based commercial real estate firm GVA Cawley said Tuesday that it is expanding its three-year-old healthcare division to take advantage of increased demand in that sector.

GVA Cawley Healthcare Real Estate Advisory Group has added David Dees as a director in its medical landlord services division. He will work with Chris Barnet to secure more medical real estate business for the firm.

The healthcare property group is currently working on a new medical facility in Frisco and medical office developments in Frisco, Mansfield and North Richland Hills.

“Healthcare is one of the only industries continuing to build right now,” Dees said in a statement. “There is an immediate call for 19 million square feet of healthcare-related space nationwide in the next few years and 50 to 60 million square feet over the long term.”

GVA Cawley Healthcare Real Estate Advisory Group is also marketing the former Carrell Clinic building at 2909 Lemmon Ave. in Dallas to potential new medical tenants.
