AVON –A developer will break ground soon on a massive new senior living campus.
The Avon Town Council approved the second abatement in the town’s history for the Reagan Park Senior Living facilities. The approval marked the final step in allowing its developer, Carmel-based Leo Brown Group, to begin construction this summer on 25 acres along County Road 100 North near Ronald Reagan Parkway.
The project, tailored to the needs of senior citizens, will include an assisted-living facility, nursing facility, independent-living apartments and a 20,000-square-foot medical-office building.
The 10-year tax abatement will cover the project’s $20.5 million of real property. Reagan Park is expected to create 132 new jobs with an average salary of $37,000.
The first residents should be able to move in by summer 2011 with an estimated completion date of all aspects of the campus by2012, said Mike Wagner, vice president of the Leo Brown Group. He said well-known, established providers are already on board to run the day-to-day operations.
