DataChambers has formally opened a second data center on its 80-acre Winston-Salem campus, according to an announcement.

The $9 million facility doubles the technology firm’s capacity, the announcement said. DataChambers provides data storage, information management, secure tape vaulting and co-location services.

Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines took part in a grand opening of the facility Wednesday.

“This is a significant investment in our community that will continue to pay dividends for years to come,” Joines said at the event.

CEO Nick Kottyan said about half of the new 20,000-square-foot data center is already under contract to new clients. Landmark Builders was the general contractor on the project.
