Aug 12, 2010 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel – McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) –

Emeritus Senior Living, one of the country’s largest operators of assisted living centers, and two partners have acquired West Park Place Senior Living in West Allis and three other centers in Wisconsin as part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization of Stayton SW Assisted Living.

West Park Place, 7400 W. Greenfield, has 96 residents, said Kate House, the assisted living center’s director of community relations.

Stayton, formerly Sunwest Management, sold 132 facilities last week to a joint venture formed by Blackstone Real Estate Advisors VI LP, Emeritus and Columbia Pacific Advisors, according to Emeritus. The sale of an additional 12 facilities was deferred pending approval by lenders and other matters. The joint venture

expects to close on those properties by the end of the year.

Sunwest Management, based in Oregon, also owned centers in Madison, Appleton and Stevens Point in addition to West Allis.
