ROCHELLE — After several years of hard work by City of Rochelle staff, City Council members and Ogle County personnel, the City of Rochelle will soon become home to the first and only assisted living facility in the county.
San Gabriel, a 46-unit assisted living facility, held its official groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday morning at the facility’s future home on Flagg Road in Rochelle.
John and Caroline Dietzen, a brother-sister team from Effingham, will build, own and operate the facility, which will provide apartment-style living and a range of supportive services for seniors 65 years-of-age and over.
“The community has been just wonderful to us,” commented Mr. Dietzen. “We are very pleased to be coming to Rochelle and to offer area senior residents a safe and independent living option. With our assisted living model, we are able to cater to both independent seniors, as well as those who may require some help with activities of daily living.”
Facility
San Gabriel, which will be located at 2201 Flagg Road just west of 20th Street, will offer four different, full-sized apartment designs ranging from 360 to 1,118 square feet.
