Senior Housing: Two South Dakota tribes each get $1M grant

Two Indian tribes in South Dakota are each getting $1 million from a Minnesota tribe for economic development and community development.

The grants are from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which owns the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn., and other tribal enterprises.

The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe will use the money for a senior housing project at Flandreau.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe will put its $1 million grant toward a tribal grocery store that opened two years ago in Mission.
