Senior Housing: Wichita firms land contracts to build $2.9M assisted living facility in Satanta

Hutton Construction Corp. and Howard + Helmer Architecture are partnering to build a $2.9 million assisted living facility in western Kansas.
Work on the 16,800-square-foot Satanta facility, which will include 14 units, is expected to start this month.
The project is part of a $3.5 million bond voters there approved in August 2009. Those involved say it will help fill a void for senior-living services in rural Satanta and Haskell County.
The assisted living facility is another example of local companies seeking work outside the Wichita area as a way to offset a slow commercial construction market.
