Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. has purchased a Plano data processing center.

Lincoln’s Rackhouse Data Center division said Wednesday that it has purchased the 150,000-square-foot data center in the Legacy business park.

The project is located at 6653 Pinecrest Drive, south of Tennyson Parkway, and was built by Stream Realty Partners in 2006.

The building is located on a 20-acre site and was constructed to withstand 175-acre winds.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. The property is valued for taxes at more than $40 million.

Lincoln Rackhouse was set up last year to invest in and operate data centers.

The new owner plans to lease the just-acquired Plano building.

“We just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to control such a facility in what we consider the best business location in Texas,” Martin Peck, Lincoln Rackhouse managing director, said in a statement.
