Aurora Health Care Inc. has sold two more medical office buildings to Santa Ana, Calif.-based Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT Inc. for just over $40 million, a move that raises additional cash for Wisconsin’s largest health care provider.

Sources tell Crain’s that two major projects are in the works at the sprawling medical campus in Streeterville: a large biomedical research facility for Northwestern University’s medical school and a medical office tower for doctors who practice at the hospital.

Construction on the new wing at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham is in the final stages. When completed, the 37,000 square foot addition will feature a new emergency room, main entrance, magnetic resonance imaging suite and 20 additional private inpatient rooms.
